alphacheck
“Conformity is a matter close to our heart.” That is how Berger Med GmbH from Hüttenberg in Hesse describes the guiding idea behind its own brand alphacheck. It means that every product meets all regulations, from CE marking to occupational safety, and that customers get the documents to go with it.
Berger Med supplies business customers only, including in Switzerland, and sees itself as an all-round supplier for diabetes care. Inpatient and outpatient care providers and clinics get advice and training, on the device as well as on occupational safety and medical device law. Its second guiding principle is “Standing still means falling behind”.
Production takes place at manufacturers around the world, which Berger Med visits and audits regularly. The CareSens meters and test strips come from i-SENS in South Korea, founded in 2000 by professors and students of Kwangwoon University in Seoul. According to i-SENS, the CareSens PRO test strips need less than half a microliter of blood, and the result is ready after five seconds.
For care institutions we have the CareSens Dual eco meter in mmol/L, along with CareSens PRO test strips, control solution and a logbook. The comfort safety lancets come in four needle gauges from 23 G to 30 G. Their needle stays hidden before and after the prick and retracts automatically, which matters when many different hands take measurements one after another.
